10 Although an undated telegram of congratulations on the sixth anniversary of
the liberation of Czechoslovakia sent by Georg Dertingcr, the East German
Foreign ?Minister, to Viliam 3iro1 , the Czech Foreign Minister, was read over
the Berlin radio station on 7 May 1951 and published in Neues Deutschland
on 8 May in such a way as to imply that Dertingor was in Berlin, he was in
fact in Prague at the time 0 He left for Prague early on 5 May, and had not
returned by the evening of 7 May. Ile-was not accompanied by any member of
the Foreign T'inistry0
