The Five Year plan for the :1ittenbcrg area of iii Schrerin sets the following
goals for the railways:
a. The laying of 152 kilometers of track. This does not include rebuilding
the second tracks (on double-track lines) which were dismantled.
b. The repair of 320 ldlometcrs of track.
c. The construction of new rolling stock is to include 34 locomotives, 118
passenger cars, 7,800 freight car:.*
do The increase of railway cargoes to 6,I1.}0 freight car loads per day.
e., The reduction of round-trip time for freight cars in the Soviet Zone to
34 days per car.
2. For Bad Kleinan the Five Year plan calls for the completion of three new tracks
at the rail-way station, each with 240--car capacity. There ax-c to be six new
switch-tracks at the station. Six of these are to be sidetracks at crossings.
.3. The present track on t.'-,o interzone rail line from Berlin to Hamburg has a
sharp curve at Uag:enao Land. A new track is to be laid to eliminate this curve.
4;.. The following rolling stock was taken out of operation in the Schwerin area
between 1 and 10 February because of frequent difficulty with hot-boxes.,
The cars will be out of operation until V.-Ley have been thoroughly overhauled.
They include the following number of cars and locomotive :
