1. The Chinese Communist 14 Army numbering 30,000 men is deployed along the
Burma-China border. It is commanded by General LI Chang-fang* and its
headquarters are at Tali (100-11; 25-43). The 14 Army is composed of
40, 41, and 42 Divisions.** 'Forty Division is at Wanting (97-55; 24-00),
41 Division is between Wanting and Paoshan (99-09; 25-07), and 42 Division
is at Kvenang (sic). In addition there is an artillery regiment between
Paoshan and Lunglirg (9P-42; 24-34) and three other independent regiments
at Sushon (s4c), Paoshan, and Lichon (sic). These three independent
regiments are about to undergo reorganization.
