3. Engines for the Soviet Army wore being overhauled, and AA armunition
allegedly manufactured, in the building of the former" Teichert er. Sohn
sawmill on Alhelmstrasso. The samill. had been converted ? into an
ordnance establishment before and/or during the war. Since 1947, about
500 workmen have been employed under Soviet supervision.
4. To be self-sustaining with regard to ration supolies, the Soviet units
in Liegnitz operated a number of large farms
Arong these farms there was a dairy farm at Pantendorf
a cattle breeding farm at Dau6-
mannsdorf; a sheep breeding farm at Ohlsdnrf; a grain growing farm at
Schandorf; a hog breeding farm at Ilalitsch; a chicken farm at Reppendorf;
and a grain growing fana it Seifersdorf. It was said that these farms
would eventually be returned to Pelish authorities.

5. Prior to Larch 1951, the Artillerie Kaserne on Bahnhofstrasse? Sagan
(0 52/13 26), quartered a Polish heavy motorized artillery urit which
arrived in the summer of 1950, :.?eplacing a unit
which, in turn, moved. to Bonzlau (0 52/13 )2).
6. The Dachsberg Kaserne or Panzer Knserne at the northwestern perimeter of
Sagan, on the north side of the highway to Soran (0 52/B 16), was occupied
by a tank unit which had numerous T-34 tanks and smaller tanks of an un- i
determined type. The EhT quarters
of the installation: wore full. One 17.ajor Z,adovski? (fnu), allegedly a
Soviet officer wearing a Polish uniform, was one of the key officers of
the unit. (4)

this headquarters is still designated Kg Tiorthern Group of :1;orces.

versary of the Red nrmy in -arsam,

installation is located on anynauerstrasso? in the northwestern sector of
the town. Another barracks installation built in the 130Is, is located
in the northern sector of the city, on the east side of the road. to Lueben.
An old barracks installation, cnr.ed Grenadier Naserne? is located in
the western portion in the center of the city, bordering on Ilikolaistrasse
in the north, Grenadieratrasse in the east and 7tissenburgerstrasse in
the south. The two installations which source referred to as irenadier
KasJrne probably constitutod a billetino' area. The barracks installation
on Siegeshoehe is a large block o:: buildins in the southwestern sector
of the eity, which formerly Quartered German AT artillery units and a
hospital. It is probably the collective billeting area of. the installations
which being locoted. on Cioldberr,:erstrasse and on. Sieeo-
hoehe. The Musa Kaserne in probably the old barracks installation north
of .;..ho airfield, which formerly quartered the Gorman lOth :.Ao-; Dn.

not known. It is also unknown whcther the Da chsberg Kaserne quarters
soviet or Polish units.
