The Riznaniati authorities retain ten percent of the medicines sent in
'packages/12*cm the United States. liedicines are so scarse that the
authorities use a syringe to draw part of the contents of penicillin
bott containing more then a million units. Penicillin was imported

The medicines produced by the Rumanians are of United quantity and
inferior quality. At the state-caned hospital near the Domani Park
in Bucharest, prominent Commini sts are being treated exclusively with
American medicines. Erporimonts to produce penicillin were made at
Sinaia, but they failed. Cat-gut for ligatures is scarce and of
inferior quality. The four pharmaceutical works at Bucharest produce C7
antipyrin, aspirin, saccharin, calcium injections, nolrocain, adrenalinif
pentazol, salicylic acid, and caffeine.
