1. From 21 March to 6 April 1951, the old section of the Reiter Kaserne in Parchim
Cr 54/T 74) was still occupied to capacity by 1,000 to 1,200 troops, most of
thammith red-bordered black epaulets but some mith black-bordered red epaulets.
Darracks cleaning was in full progress on 24 Larch. About 60 soldiers were
beating mattresses while. about 60 other soldiers were cleaning clothes. The
soldiers were young, but did not have cropped hair. Lt nightfall, all of the
barracks windows mere lighted.

The new section of the Reiter Kaserne was occupied to capacity by 1,000 to
1,200 troops, most of them with red-bordered black epaulets, some with tank
and artillery insiznia and a few with black-bordered red epaulets. T-31t twice
left the barracks installation in the direction 050X1-HUM
the railroae station on 21 Larch. Six trucks, each carrying 10 to 12 soldiers
and towing AT guns of about 50-mm, moved into the installation at 9 p.m. on 50X1-HUM
24 rarch. Four trucks towing AT guns of about 50-mm and two trucks carrying
or 4 soldiers each roved into the billeting area at 10 p.m. on 25 Larch.

including the mess and admini tration buildings, re lighted in the evening50X1-HUM
of 26 Larch. Truck towing an AT gun of about 50-mm left the instal-
lation on 2 April. Its driver asked for the road to Putlitz. A light armored
reconnaissance car arrived at the ins llation from the railroad station. Sp

observed in the tilleting area on 6 April. About one third of the houses on
Kemnatenstrasse had been derequisitioned; the remaining houses were vacant.

3. The Neue Helmet settlement was still occupied to capacity by an AAA unit of
400 to 500 men. who wore red-bordered black epaulets with artillery insiemia.

4. The home for aged people still quartered a maximum of 100 troops who were red-
bordered black epaulets with artillery insignia. The soldiers seemed to belong
to the unit in the Veue Helmet settlement. It could not be determined whether
the hone for aged people housed the headquarters, the headquarters battery,
