L. On 22 March 1951,- it was learned that members of the 1930 through 1932 class were being indutted into the Polish Army. The draftees were notified indi- vidually rather than inducted as whole classes,. The members of the 1933 class were summoned .to report for registration with the draft boards.; (1) 50X1-HUM 2. On 12 March 1951, in the Katowice (Q 51/Y 57) area, the 50X1-HUM servicemen of the 1927 class would be discharged in April and September 1951s and these of the 1923 class in late 1951 and during 1952. (2) About 60 per- cent of the raembers of the 1929 and 1930 classes were inducted in November 1950 and 20 percent in February 1951; the remaining 20 percent were deferred., (3) The registration 0.1 the 1931 class was completed and the registration of the 1932 class under way in March. No draftees of the 1931 class had been called up for active service by that time. (ti) Comments. (1) ince con ants of the 1929 and 1930 classes have been in active service only since the fall of 1950, it is doubted that new large-scale inductions should have been effected. If members of the 1930 through 1932 classes were actual- ly inducted in !arch 1931, they probably constituted only a small percentage, apparently volunteers, of these classes. The registration of the 1933 class was reported by the Polish emigrants'newspaper Dziennik felski as early as January 1951. (2) The 1927 class was inducted in the fall of 19/43 and should have been dis- charged in the fall of 1950. Vo information on the discharge of this class has been received. According to rumors, the class was retained in service 50X1-HUM beyond the two-year term. The 1928 class was called up in the fall of 19149 and, according to schedule, should be demobilized in the fall of 1951. 50X1 -HUM (3) The information is doubted (4) According to posters displayed all over Poland registered for the draft in the fall-of 1950.
