In December 1950, the VP school received 233 to 333 of the b.Dut-qualified ;Taduates'from NCO courses at the V2 Dereitcchaften and, in 1.ate December, 600 to 730 police recruits. 2. The VP school was organized into 10 conpanies of trainees and a cadl'e of about 70 officers and 230 police. The trainees received thorow:h tm train- includirr:; the operation of voice-ratlio sets installed in T-34 tanks. In January,1951,six T-34 traininc, tanks were available when the first ' " 50X1-HUM 0 40 tank arrived at the V2 school. School commandant was VP Kommandeur Krum, (fnu), who was trained in Lescow for one year. No succeeded VP Tnspekteur IoUitcch, (fnu), who was transferred to the newly activated VP Dereitschaft in-71alle in 3ecenber 1750. VP at Viluf, (fnu), was director of trnining. VP 2.at Carolius, (fnu), the former PN officer of the school, ald VP nrmandeur Peeznann, (fnu)? were transferred to Berlin and Burg respectively, The VP school in :'riemerwald received a ahimloht of Soviet officers' forms in early :larch, Comment. This is the first report to state that a T-44 tank-woo .issued to the Volkspolizei, 31nce only oboolcent T-31, tanks mounting 76 and 85-rra ..;.uns have boon issued to the ?3ate11ite armies, and since only some of the T-314 tanks with Soviet medium tank regiments in 3ermany have been replaced by T444 tanks, it is believed that nistook a T-34/85 tank for a T-44 tank, having seen only T-34/76 tanks with the Volkspolizei.
