A transformer station was removed to be rebuilt farther to the north. A three?story house on Burger Chaussee Was likewise dis? mantled. The landing field was extended beyond the railroad line. How? ever, the trains on this line, the so?called Spreewald Bahn, were still operating. * 2c The terrain in front of the runway at the west side of the landing field was being levelled. Excavations up to 1.2 meters deep were observed there. The fuel dump on Burger Chaussee was also being enlarged. On 5 Aprilifour large containers were seen in the fenced?in rata dump area. By 8 April, these containers had been dug in. Another container of the same size was seen on 9 and 10 April. ** 30 The field was still occupied by a unit equipped with twin?engine planes. Night flying in good weather was observed. *** 41* Lo Comment. The Lukasfeld is about 600 meters east of the railroad 50X1-HUM line. This indicates that the landing field would have a total ltngth 50X1-HUM of about 3,000 meters0 the runway is scheduled to be extended to about 2,500 meters.
