1. The Yulin headquarters of the Soviet Submarine Comm ad has been training
Chinese Cammrunist Naval poi?sonnol in practice aneuvers at Yulin Harbor.
On the evening of 15 or 16 April one of the trainees killed a Soviet officer,

0 Wu..ohiang, a Chiness Communist trainee, thinking hix elf insulted
by Soviet Lieutenant Ku-tla-li ( :' ) quarreled with the officer
and shot him with a pistol. Ku'ta,-li died instantly and KAO then shot
himself. 1ihen Soviet and Chinese officers arrived it was too late
to do anything.

final settlement, training was halted for over 300 Chinese Communist

3w On 12 iUv r 140 Chinese Communist submarine trainees left Yulin a vroute to
the North by train and led by uI I Sau.Mmin, who was going to Peiping to
report on the death of the Soviet officer. The training period at
Yulin was shortened six weeks by this incident,
