On 27 May Chinese Communist Air Force (CCAF) activities wore as follavis:l
a+. Ranking: 3 TU-2's arrived from Peiping via Tsinan under the direction
of flight leader IISLAIIG Yu-.kang,
b, Yangts ?un: one YAI .-17 and 2 other planes f1ai training missions.
K'aiyuan: a number of planes flee: training missions.
On 27 May Soviet Air Force (SAP) activities vrere as follows:
ac, Antumg: 4:4 jet fighters patrolled the area during an air raid alert in
the afternoon, and one YAI{..11 and one :JIG-15 flea training missions.
b. Fengeh'?ng (124-05, 40-.28): 8 LA-9's left for KVaiyuan,
On 28 :lay CCAF activities were as follows:
ao K'aifong: a number of Chinese Communist paratroops made practice jumps
from 2 IL-12's, which made a total of 12 trips. A number of Chineso

(11226, 34-+40) from K' aifeng on the swae plane.
b. PeipLYg: one plane of the Chinese Communist 906 Unit2 left for

8, On 30 May SAP activities were as follows:
a. Anshan: 16 MIG-15's and a number of other planes flew training missions
under the direction of ilao-laowtao-fu,
be Mukdeu: 22 :HCT 15's flow- training missions under the direction of
LIN Hu (44 L ).6
9. In mid-!lay the Chinese Communist 1063 Unit7 was at Tungt'a Airfield, Mukdon.
10. In late May there was a school for the training of direction-finding personnel
in Peiping. A number of Chinese Communists in Tsitsihar were scheduled to
leave soon for Peiping by plane for training at this center.
11. On the evening of 7 'May 15 Soviet figher plane bodies and 60 largo boxes of
Soviet figher plane parts arrived at White Cloud Airfield from Hankow. On
23 May 5 of those planes were already assembled and had been given test flights.
On 28 May 80 large boxes of plane parts arrived at Vlhite Cloud and T'ienho
Airfields from Hankowae The assembly of planes ? ,t both these fields is being
rushed under orders from the Central and South China Military Area Command.
In late May 48 additional Soviet aviation experts and 86 additional Soviet
technicians began assisting in this work at both airfields.8

1?. In early May a shipment of planes or plane parts, in 40 crates, reached
Tffiienho Airfield by rail and those parts were being assembled.
13. From raid-April to 30 Lay approximately 10,000 civilian laborers,
conscripted by the Tientsin authorities, were constructing a now airfield
at iianaliushu (I Y j? in the Tientsin area, under the supervision of .
approximately 10 Soviets. This field is to havo 5 runways, all capable of
handling heavy bombers, and a number of underground laan.gors, radar stations
(sic), and night landing facilities,
14. In early March the former Japanese Army barracks and warehouses in Yenshou
(,,, t ) and Shenshu (128-35, 46-55), along the Suihua (126-58, 46-36)-
T4angyuan (129-53, 46-42) Railroad, were being, used as billets and training
installations for Chinese Communist paratroops. Also along this railraod were
a number of jump towers for paratroop training. Approximately 25 Soviet-
made transport planes were being used in this training, which was under
the overall supervision of Soviet colonel Selves1r.9 The instructors
included some Japanese and Germans. By early January 35,000 (sic)

15. In early lurch there were 12,000 Chinese Communist and 300 Korean trainees
at the CCAF aviation school in Chiamussu. A Soviet colonel was the head of
this school. Only advanoed training was riven to pilots in Chiamussu. All
graduates of CCAF basic training schools in Manchuria were being sent there
for this purpose, There were no jet pilots there.11
16, In early March there were 580 Chinese Communists and 70 Koreans at the
Chinese Communist aviation school in Changchun. The head of this school
was Soviet colonel Mamevsky.9 Only basic pilot training was being given
at this school.
17. In early April 27 jet fighters, 12 light bombers, and 14 training planes
were stationed at :.hits Cloud Airfield, Canton..
