L. Aircraft seen at the Neuruppin airfield between 16 and 27 April 1951.,
included three two-seater single-engine fighters, nine two-seater jet
fighters with swept-.back wings, 14 biplanes, and 32 single-seater jet;
fighters with swept-back wings, The two-seater jet fighters seemed
slightly lamer and their engines were noisier than the single-sea}?e:-
jet planes. he black numbers 112, 117, and 190 were seen on three two-seater
jet aircraft.
2" On 20 April, flying activity was intensified: There was an alert dri"':1 at
5 a.m. Thirty-five minutes later, 24 planes took off in three sopsra~e
formations of eight planes eaoh. The aircraft landed after 45 minute; of
flying. The same procedure was repeated at 8:20 a.m. The formation headed
southwest. Two--seater jet aircraft also participated in the drill. '':a the
morning of 20 April, two jet planes collided in the air. At 6 p.m, o:a 26
April, the alert was called off. The %ittatoek Allee was blocked whenever
night flights were made.
3; Laborers employed at the field said that the personnel strength was
increased by about 100 ground troops, Senior lieutenant Laudin, (fnu),
was the technical officer of the field. Four tanks each with a capacity
of. 50,000 liters -Wgre seen for the first time at the fuel dump. The
containers had come from. rerneuchen. ** Grading work was still being
done as far as 600 meters north of the runway.
