Sixteen thou d Soviet troops are stationed in the Tunhua (128.-lI, 43-22) area.1 These troops are billeted in 30 buildings that were set up in February on the plain and hill near a small river about one mile northwest of the South Gate of the old Tunhua city wall. The area is 'the site of the former Japanese Shinto shrine in Tunhu.a. The troops appear to be from 18 to 20 years old. The officers are billeted at the i'unhua Theater. 2.
