The Albanian Democratic Front has succeeded the Albanian "National Front of Liberation" which was established by the Albanian Comist Party dmg- Ing the Axis occupation The purpose for creating the Democratic Front is to lend credence to the propaganda claim that freedom in politics and representation of all classes exist in Albania, 2. Any Albanian citizen above the age of 16 who adheres to the principles of the Democratic Front may become a member. Be is then provided with a special identity cards 6. The supreme organ of the bemoeratic Front is the Congress, in which %1l the delegates of the District Councils partigipate, The Congress convenes every four years and elects the "General Council of the Democratic Frcr ", the lower clasaas. Actually, the candidates elected are selected by the Caamllaniist Paarty. Every village or section of a city elects its local "Council of the Democratic Front" which is composed of three to seven mem- bers, according to the number of inhabitants. These local councils meet every two months. The meeting for the election of the Council takes place once each year, when the delegates to the District Assembly are also elected, The District Assembly of the Democratic Front is composed of the delegates of the villages and town sections, and elects every two years the "District Council of the Democratic Front", which is composed of 31 to 51 members (sic)., The District Council meets every three months. 3. The following are the obligations of the members of the Democratic Front: a. To work for the stabilization of the People's Republic and for the protection of the independence of the country. b. To respect the laws of the country and to work for the success of the state projects. o. To take an active part in the work of the Democratic Front. 4.
