THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION the former German sailing training ship "Borst Lessel", ng the o ? sh IJavy ensign, was anchored before Nexoe (Bornholm) together with a forma German yacht schooner, presumably the "Edith" which was raised in Stralsund and which formerly belonged to the Ilansoatic yachting school at Ideustadt/Holstein, and a German I;F'I'- which had been transformed into a yacht schooner. All three of these Polish Naval vessels were visibly in poor condition, had bad, cheap paint and were badly neglectcd. Pressure buoys (Drangt14:nnen) and boxes were seen lying around on deck. The ships were manned for the most part by ethnic Germans from Upper Silesia who wore shabby uniforms and made a poor military impression. 2. The ports of tolpmuende, Ruegenwaldermuende and Leba have been badly neglected and are rapidly sanding up since all dredging work has been discontinued. 3p Only large lu r ,ers are being built at the IUeptunwerft in Hostock, one third of these being destined for the account of the Soviets. Upon completions the vessels are taken over by Soviet naval personnel. 1. motor lighter of 3,000 GRT is lying in 1:arnemuende which is of a type similar to the net layers VI and VIII which were built in Finland.
