REPORT NO.
1. In early June. 3.000 troops of the Chinese Communist 4 Field Army arrived in
Canton from ?'orea. They novel to the Hutyang (111-?26, 23-05)-Paos~aa (11356,
22-32) area for reorganization. An artillery regiment of the 14 field, Araby
also arrived in Canton from T:orea, then moved to 11anpa (jj4 ti ) Island in the
mouth of the Pearl River for reorganization.
2. Disposition of Chinese Communist troops in Kwangtung was as follows: 40 Army,
strength 4,000 men, at P&anyu (113-.26. 23-01) and Kuahsien (11318. 23-29);
42 Army, strength 6,000 rien, Dart at Kulrong (Chtuchiang 113-33, 24-50) and
part in the ulyanp;-Paoan area, 39 Arsrry, strength 3,000 men, to be sent to
the border region of Kwangsi and then to eastern Kwangtung for reorganization.

CLASSIFICATION
In mid-June there were no regular Chinese Communist troops in the Canton area.
Reports that Chinese Communist troops were transferred to the Canton area from
Korea are untrue. However, in irate V ay, 2,000 unarmed Chinese Communist troo?as
arrived in Canton from north Kwangtung. In mid-June these troops were at
Kranglo ();j t ) villa..ge on the south bank of the Pearl River in the Canton
area. They vere being; equipped by the Kwangtung 10 Public Security Division.
4. On 31 I'a4y and 6 June a total of 2,000 Chinese Communist troops wounded, in rorea
arrived in Canton from 'ranIuw. Some of these troops were in the Chinese
Cor runf st Arrrr Second Roant tPl at Ta No Shan in the Canton area,
which is under the Central and South China rilitar' Area Command. The rest of
these troops were at the'rrh Sha Vou Sanatorium (-- 4 yi ) in the Canton
area. This sanatorium is the former property of LIANG Pei-chi (, )
and was sold by LIA.TG recently to the Peoples s Bank of Canton and is used
exclusively for wounded. Chinese Communist troops.
In early June, the Kwangtung Government or. ;aa,ized800 laborers and 1480 stevedores
at the Wh~az,poa whair res into 10 cor:nanies, each cormany with four squads of
laborers. 20 in each sound. and. three squads of stevedores, 16 in each squad.
