with had only one man and a rod. about 15 meters long,
pow-Ably an antenna, which projected beyond the rear section of the cock-
pit. Thi8 observationwas made while the planes came in for landing and
while the crews climbed out of the cockpits. The last plane landed at

During flying activity., visibility-was about 4 to 5 kin and the sky was

It is -mosible that brake blocks. were being fitted. A tank trick approached
hich was the first to. land. The tank truck stoped.- whew its
rear side was at the left nide of the. nose. TM) men put a hose about as
thick as a manes arm into an apertum on the loft Side of the fuselage
between the nose and the wing. Pceljng took about 5 mdnutes it was not ob-
served that a pump was being usse. Alter this process the tank truck moved
next to the other three tank trucks apposite the runway. The 'three trucks
waited for aircraft to come in for landing. All planes that landed rem
refueled, two planes being refueled from one tank truck. The two planes
which were parked at the outer sides of the dispersal area were not re-
fuelod.- After refueling two planes, each tank truck moved to ':he fuel dump
for refilling and then returned to the dispersal aref.A. It -o= repeatedly
observed that refueling took about 8 minutes and 30 seconds The aperture
in which tho h0Ee MV6 placed in could not be seen prior to or af:tor re-
fueling.

25X1 clearing work had to stop in forest sub-areas (JaF,on)
40 and 40 since aircraft weapons were adjusted on a small firing range,
located nearby Jagon 50 on the northern edge of the restricted area. The
.firing range, 15 x 250 motors, had sand ? walls on the side whieh-aere about
3 to it meters high and a wall in. front about 5 to 6 motors highc. Ti concrete
wall 50 cm x 3 meters with tf;ilber on top was in front of the sand wall.
The aircraft of the field taxied. to the firing range on a concrete strip
which was considerably damaged. Firing was 2raticed from a O:Lstance of
about 100 meters. Short Inn's-Ls Of about 8 to. 10 rounds were fired once, or
twice then followed with about five individual snots. This practice lasted
one minute. A machine 5;un was probably being used. About 8 to 10 individual
shots with a rather dull sound were then fired, probably by a 20-mm aircraft
cannon. It is believed that the weapons were new and were being adjusttsd to
the aircraft.
