In late it the Chinese Corlmnist 2 Air Squadron Meaaquarters was at "Tanyuan (116-2, 3 aS) Airfield. The comr'and.er was CRAUTG Ta'hsiang (k "k. 43 ) and the d.eputy commander was a man naried PI M (L) . The code designation of this squadron was "906", and it was formerly known as the Peohai (* s ) unit. 2. Attached to this squadron at T1anyuan Airfield are 12 Soviet pilots, 13 Soviet mechanics, 2.9 training planes, and a number of Soviet instructors. Approxi- mately 200 Chinese Communist ground troops guard '.Ta.nyuan Airfield.. 3. In February' construction was completed at a new airfield four miles from Nanyuan.
