THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
1. 11 military training center covering about 40 square kilometers is located
at Oremov Laz in central Slovakia in the wooded and hilly area between Zvolen,,
Lucenec and Modry Karen (Q49/C8o),, The area is guarded and posted as a
"military arean. It is used as a training center for all types of Slovak nits,
Since October 1950 reservists of military classes 1916 to 1926 have been trained
In this area in four-week courses.

located at Pliesovee and Sasa (Q49/072). A hospital is also located either
at Pliesovice or Sasa. At the end.of 1950 an infantry unit of about 600 men
was encamped about 10 km south of Pliesovoe, an engineering unit east of the
~ nfantry unit, and beyond it to the east an artillery unit
with 122-mm howitzers,* Also encamped at the center was a tank unit equipped
consisting of three batteries with a total of about 400 z en and cauipped
with T-34 ta_ta ks, a motor transportation battalion, a second infantry unit and
headquarter; units of the training center.
