THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
1. During 'lay 1951 all the military class of 1931 and the remainder of the
military class of 1930 were drafted. soldiers whr'
had completed 30 months service in the infantry were discharged in 1rn 50X1-HUM
2. Trenches and machine gun posts have been constructed southwest of Koprivien
(QK 6838); the work was done by Trudovaks early in 1951. A three strand
barbed wire fence was constructed last autumn from Libyahovo (QK 6829) to
Lofcha (QE 5825)-
3. A five strand barbed wire fence has been constructed from the bottom of the
mountains south of Nezek (13T 8172), along the border, to the railroad line.
It was planned to extend this fence up to the Maritsa .very
4. There was an air defense unit in Svilengrad composed of a Aecond lieutenants
a candidate officer., and a sergeant. The unit has a sound (sic) machine
with a radius of 30 kilometers. The group lived In a hospital in Svi lengrad;
the installations were on a hill north of the town, about one or two k iloraaeters
from the hospital.
