25X1X o is workers in the Port of Stettin refused to transload
to eOVIOt ships sugar which had arrived from the Soviet Zone of Germany,
The Poles allegedly. said that in Poland they were not given any sugar,
because the Soviets were requisitioning everything for themselves in
Poland, and so they as Poles were not willing to assist in shipping German
sugar to the U,S.SJORc. Thereupon, the Soviet guards killed a Polish worker,.
The Polish w"kers oveir-W?elmed the Soviet guards,, cnd with arrival of Soviet
reinforcements, ?i riot took place which is said to have resulted in. the
death of 10 people and the wounding of several.
2C, Since this demonstration, the daily train carrying crude oil from Saxony to
Stettin has stopped operat?ng. The traansloading of briquettes has also been
discontinued since 9 May. It appears that these trains now run to Rostock
