CPIU said that the Chinese Communists were unable to continue fighting in Yorea, and it was very possible that they would agree to some sort of arrangements for a cease-fire agreement. He also said that the ralilt proposal had resulted from friendly but firm Chinese Connmist pressure, arct that it did not irrmly differences existing between the Chinese Com- rnnxniete and the Soviets. CRU said that to induce the Chinese Communists to enter the war last Decer^ber, the Soviets had promised to fully equip 50 divisions and sixp ly 2,000 planes as renlacerents for the loss of US equipment originally captured from the :Tationalist forces.
