1, At a meeting of the Tudeh Youth organization held in mid-Pay 1951 at the
hone of We. Sharmini (fnu), and attended by a group of well-dressed Iraniansr,
the topic of discussion was America's weakness in the Korean War and its
inability to wage war successfully despite its obvious desire to do so. I
The spokesman for the group predicted an early ousting of United Nations
troops from Korea by the Communists.
2. At a. subsequent meeting of the Tudeh Youth hold at the same place in late
May 1951, informant and five other (unspecified) individuals discussed
the following subjectst
am l4ossadeq's proposal for electoral reform (The Tudeh Party opposes
the plan to restrict voting to literate Iranians on the ground that
the plan is undemocratic and unfairly restricts the size of
constituencies.)
b, Mossadoq's antagonism toward the Tudeh Party, (The Party is skeptical
about his alleged intention to legalize the Tudeh Party. It believes
that the freeing of Tudeh prisoners is only a "grandstand play" to
give the Iranian people the impression that he loves liberty and
liberality and that, instead of being favorably disposed toward the
Party, Ilosaadeq is secretly working for the British and is following
specific British plans, According to the Tudeh,, he is also responsible
for the formation of the new anti-Tudeh workers' Party known as
Zahmatkishan0 2
his power after the election,)
e, Mossadeq's efforts to control the forthcoming electiono (The Tudeh Party
believes that Mossadeq,with the assistance of the Zahmatkishan, will
attempt to strengthen his basic power, thereby winning the election in
spite of the free ballot to which he is committed. However, the Tudeh
is of the opinion that Mossadeq will not be successful in maintaining
