About three divisions of Chinese Communist troops were in this same area,,
in the 01vouac area 3 kilometers north of Sinmak Airfield; nightly, from
10 through 14 July, it was engaged in transporting military supplies.
On 14 July, about 7,000 North Korean troops were billeted in farm houses
in the vicinity of Sinmak.
On 17 July, approximately 80,000 newly recruited and trained North Korean
troops were concentrated in the Kuwol san (125--16 3830) (XC 98631 area

1, On 9 July, approximately 15,000 Chinese Communist troops and 200 trucks
and jeeps arrived in the Sariwon area from Kangdong (12605, 39?05)
(BU 4837) and bivouacked 2 kilometers north of Sariwon, These troops
began to move in the direction of Namch3onjon (126-21i, 3620) (BT 7346)
on the evenings of 9 and 10 July, Each evening From 9 to 12 July,
convoys of undetermined strength moved south through Sariwon between
11 p.m, and 12 p0m,, and 2 a.m. and 3 a.m.
2. On 12 July, an unidentified Chinese Communist field artillery unit
arrived at Sariwon; the men were billeted in groups of six to seven in
most of the houses of the city. The unit departed in the direction of
Sirimak (12614, 3825) (BT 5855) at 11:30 p,,a,, or. the same day. SUI
Min-huang ( ), a battery commander in this force, stated that
the unit left Such?iatun (123-22, 41=43) a Manchuria on 3 July, entering
Korea at Sinuiju. SUI said two Soviet army corps, which had concentrated
on the Soviet-Manchuria border about 27 December 1950, moved to ;4ukden on
1 July, when his unit was preparing, to move into Korea, These Soviet
array corps were composed of mixed Soviet and Korean combat troops,,
