1. The Projeets and Construction Bureau of the Power "t')AminiStration (Pro
ierungs-und Konstruktionsbnro fuer die Energie Wirtschaft), is a DpR
government agency directly responsible to the Hauptabteilung Energle
of the Ministry of Heavy Industry. This bureau, presently amploylcig
about 200 engineers and technicians, is responsible for developing
and designing all heavy power equipment, such as turbines, generators
compressors, and steam boilers, to be installed in the various powir
Plan* of the Soviet fgrene of Germany. The bureau receives all orders
for the preparatory designing projects of the power plant expansion
prograea embodied in the current Five Year -Plan. Orders for the oci4-
structtenalidesign of new power installations and the repair and e4L-
pansien Cf existing ones in the DDR, d'rid to some extent,,In Fast
Europe, comes to the bureau through the Hauptabteilung Energie.
All research and development orders come from thd Rauptverwaltung
Wissenechlift und Technic, under Professor Lange, of"the State Planping
Commission.'
2. Chief director of the bureau. is Dipl. Ing. Xusei'formerly an AEG em-
pleyee. The bureau is :loused in the Lindenallee, Berlin-Wilhelmsruh,
on the premises of the &ICI VEB Bergmann-Borsig, although there is no
official connection between the bureau and the Bergmann firm. Actual
productien of power equipment designed by the bureau is carried en by
tha following four test Lone firms: The EKIA VEB BergmanneBorsig '

plant, Berlin-Wilhelmsr.th; WUMAG, Goerlitz; Turbinenfabrik, Dresden;
and the AMG Hennigsdorf fuer Ele4$trogeneratoren.
',3 aest all of the bureau'Atop technical employees have had long ex-
perience in the power field with the German firms, AEG, Bergmann-
-- Borsig, and Brown Boverl-u. Co. . The bureau is divided into the
fallowing sections under the direction of the following engineers:
TI-Turbines, Steam; under Giestler, formerly with the AEG;
T2-Turbine Blades; under Kliemann, formerly with the AEG;
T3 Turbine Adjustment;. under Graul, formerly with the AEG;
T4-Generator Design; under Dipl. Ing. Reinisch, formerly with the
Teehnische Hoehschule, 3erl1n-Charlottenburg4
