seven staff officers of the Yunnan Military District Command arrived at
Dur.gchou (106--56? 22-22) and joined staff officers of the K%7angsi Military
Di trict Command to inspect IvangsiVietnam border defenses near Pringhsiang
(106--)49 22-06). On 19 July they inspected defenses at Chinghsi (106-25,
23-09) and Pa i..se (lO&.34, 23-55).,
2, The, purpose of the trip is to coordinate defense problems along the Kwangsii
Yunnan border., observe anti-Communist strength in t1 border area, and
impect the construction of communications and defense works. After the
inspection is completed, the party will go to Nanning and study measures to
strengthen border defenses with officials of the Kwangsi Military District,
