Dairen by the Soviets,

A total of 500 Chinese Communist Army technicians and signal communication
and artillery troops was assigned to Chinese Communist Army units shortly
after their arrival in Shanghai in late July. They all had been trained at

THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
Elements of the 17 Artillery Regiment, with 6 k 105mm. hovoitzera, were in
the Shachou (,~ ) area, on the ortheastorn tip of Teishan Island (122-
30-- ).
2. .A tank b ttalion has bin formed from the former Mobile ( '? ,4) Battalion
of the Nationalist Shanghai Police Bureaux, and a cavalry battalion from the
former Mounted Patrol Battalion (4 J Lt ) of the sane bureau These newly
formed ba;btal.ions were placed winder the Chinese Cox xnist Shanghai Public
Se-
curity General Corps. Equipt*aent of both battalions was in good condition.
3. There are 33 light tanks distri'nutod in the Foochow area. Thirteen are at
