The policeman demanded to known why there was no flag and pretended to jot down names in a small book. The residents of these houses, all of whom were Chinese, paid from R 50 to R 60 not to have their names recorded. There have been no further developments, none of these have been summoned by the police. Comment. There have been reports of the police ordering drivers of to d..splay flags on Merdeke Day. There appeared to be fewer 5 --star flags displayed on this holiday in lubdan than on previous similar occasions since the recognition of Communist China by Indonesia,.
