1. One troop train carrying vehicles of headquarters units and the AAA Division
of the Fourth Guards Mechanized Army went through Beelitzloward Belzig on
13 September 1951.
2. Troops from the Ardelt Plant, the Artillery Kaserne and the Schuetzen Kaserne
in Ebersmaldseuere loaded onto three trains in Eberrwalde on 17 September.
Most of the vehicles observed with these troops belong to headquarters units
of the Fourth Guards Mechanized Army; others belong to the 25th Tank Division
and the 10th Guards Tank Division.

4. A component Of the 7th Guards Mechanized Division and two tanks were loaded
on trains at Lieberose for shipment to Dessau on 14 September.
5. A unit of the 7th Guards Mechanized Division equipped with AA guns detrained in
Dessau on 14 September.
Comment: This information indicates that a field exercise of some components
of the 4th Guards Mechanized Army is to be conducted on the Elbe River in the
Dessau-Wittenberg area during the second half of September. It appears that some
elements of the army headquarters will also participate in the exercise. It can-
not be determined that these troop movements are the first indication of in.:.
