During the first week in August 30,000 Soviet troops in Chinese uniforms
arrived in the Plyongyang area from Manchuria.
In mid-August there were two regiments of Soviet anti-aircraft troops,
including those building emplacements for gun batteries, between Sinuiju and
ianp l o jin. There were 12 anti-aircraft guns assigned to each company.
3. During August 500 Soviet technicians from Manchuria arrived in North Korea
daily; they were assigned to the munitions factory in Pyongyang,
4. On or about 28 August a battalion of non-Oriental artillery troops moved into
the Unggi (130-24, 42-21) (FB 1539) and Najin-dong (130.19, 42-13) (FB 0974)
areas. The troops transported heavy coast artillery and anti-aircraft Guns
with them. About 12 Soviet 15J-mm. guns and other heavy guns were observed
in Unggi harbor. About 600 non Korean troops moved by truck from Unggi to
Najin-dong on 5 September. the troops were not European,
but were from the near east areas of the Soviet Union.
5. Troops, including artillery personnel but mostly medical corps men, have been
sent to Korea from Hungary, Bulgaria and other eastern European nations.
