The Chinese Communist Central Corr-ittee has secretly disclosed that on 1 July
19510 the thirtieth anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party,. Its membership
was 6,880,833 persons in the following categoriesa.
a. 4,212,800 members of local Communist Party organizations .. an increase of
568,000 over 1950-
b. 1,650,000 nenbers in the armed forces not excluding those killed in action
- an increase of 450,000 over 1950.

c~ 836,033 members of the "system of construction" - an increase of
614,753 over 1950.
r1. 182,000 members under the direct control of the central Communist Party
organization - an increase of 65,740 over 1950.
