1, In February 1951, different military units changed their titles. Regiments
composing divisions have again become "brigaded. The staff of the Fourth
Army, has again changed its name and become the staff of the 23rd Corps.
2. This staff is lodged in Belgisko kasarna (the Belgian barracks), which was form.
erly known as the barracks of Vojvoda Misic, located on the corner of
Metelkova and Slomskova Streets. The military post number of the Corps is
"V.P. 9685"p Commander of the 23rd Corps is Major General Peter Stante.
The rear-echelon corn ander was Lt. Colonel Ilija Deretic wlo, according to
unverified information, was recently arrested as a Cominformist along with
ten other officers.
3. In addition to the staff, the following units of the 23rd Corps are stationed
in Ljubljana:
a. the PA (anti-aircraft) Fegiment, which is lodged in the artillery barracks;
b. the liaison regiment, lodged in the Donobran barracks;
C. the engineers battalion, t?.rhich was formerly a regiment, and
d. various units attached to the Staff of the 23rd Corps.
Comment: An article appeared in the daily paper Ri ecki L~ on 20
June 1951 concerning the formal celebration in Delnice incoconnection with
the ninth anniversary of the founding of the First Croatian Proletarian
Brigade. This articlet.eantains very interesting data which fully confirms
the above report on the changes in the names of the Fourth Army Headquarters
Staff, and the changes in names of the regiments which have again become
brigades. The article states that t}e celebration was hold by the present
8 Proletarian Brigade, the comiander of which is Lt. Colonel Gabro Pavlovic,
and that in addition to Political Comriissar Sarac Dzemajla, of the 6
Proletarian Division, Corps Political Commissar Colonel Vlado Hatak was also
present. During the celebration, the Comrander of 8 Proletarian Brigade
