There -ras an airfield about 2 km southwest of Uvezdev (0 51/i? 95), about 1,500 eeters southwest of the road junction at the western exit of Plouz- nice (o 51/17 )5). The field which extended about 4,000 meters from north- west t) southeast, wan surrounded by woods. * The area of the field was /lama but t.any tree stumps were still seen. The field was uneven and re:3e slightly toward the i_mon-Kurivody (0 51/F 94) hirhway. The soil was sandy. Yost of the construction work was done by civilian workers only, while the heavy work was done by the 51st Tech Dri (Ponocny Technicky Propor) PTO. A surfaced runway, which, according to construction workers, was 2,500 motors long and the viith of which was estimated by source at CO meters,, was under construction. The runway was covered by concrete slabs the jonts of which were filled with asphalt. A concrete drainage system consis-Ang of pipes CO cm in diameter with receptacles placed at 1C3 meters intervnls led along the north side of the runway. The only buildings seen were 10 to 12 Dow wooden buildings in the northwestern corner of the installation.** These buildings quartered civilian norkers and the soldiers of the east Tech Dn.
