THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
1. Antes are being shipped to Albania from other Satellite countries in line with
the Soviet Union o s plan to furnish the Albanian Army with more modern and
standardized equipment.
2. The weapons arrive in Albanian ports packed in huge boxes with contents
marked as various types of machinery.
3. An attempt is being made to supply artillery units with equipment of
Soviet manufacture. Infantry units are reportedly to be furnished arms
of German manufacture taken from Czechoslovakia, East Germany and Poland
and shipped to Albania by way of Gdynia.
4? Some infantry units on the Yugoslav border, however, are equipped with
Soviet sub-machine guns.
