OF ENCL.S. ammo snow) SUPPLEMENT TO REPORT NO, Following is a translation of a directive issued by the Italian Communist Party Secretariat and sent to all Federation and Regional Committees on 16 September 1951: 1. The Central Control Commission of the Partito Comunista Italiano ("NCI; Italian Communist Party) will elect an Executive Office (Ufficio di Pres- idenza), composed of five members of 'whom one will be President. Under this office there will be a sub-commission for the control of the Party finances, composed of three members, and a slab-commission for the control of Party schools, corposed of five members. Two sub-commissions will be presided over by a member of the Executive Office. 2, The Executive Office is the executive organ ofthe Central Control Cale- mission. It has the job of dividing dutiep among the members of the Com- mission; of checking on the efficiency of the work and on the prompt ex- ecution of its orders; of reporting to the Party Directorate on the work and the decisions of the Centre]. Control Commission; of calling plenary meetings of the Commission- and of administering the funds entrusted to it. The Ex- ecutive Office will meet once a month. 3. The President will direct the work of the Executive Office. He will preside over all meetings of the Executive Office and over plenary meetings of the Control Commission. L. The Executive Committee will name a secretariat, composed of the iresident and of one other member, to expedite current work and correspondence, to make contacts with the Party Secretariat and with the work commissions of the Central Committee. This ,soreteriat is responsible for the efficient internal functioning of the Central Control Comnission. It Will assist the suPordinate work units and members of the Commission to carry out their duties. The Secretariat will also to assisted by a technical secretary, not belonging to the Central Control Commission, who will keep minutes of the meetings, do filing, etc. 5.
