REPORT NO.
1. During April 1951, 33 Infantry Re nt was transferred from Sv3 shtov to
an unknown location. An infantry battalion was transferred to Nikopol;
another infantry battalion was transferred, to Lovech; and a third infantry
battalion was transferred either to Lom or to the Yugoslav borders These
battalions were part of the regiment complement unitae
2. A fez; days after the departure of 33 Infantry Regiment, the Military
Academy from Sofia took over the evacuated barracks. Approximately 1,000
academy students were also transferred with the Military Academy ? Infor-
mant heard rumors that the : 2tli t ary Acadenr would remain in Svis htov
permanently.
3.. In June 1951, all reserve officers in the Svishtov area were recalled to
active duty for a 45-day period of indoctrination and training in the use
of new Soviet weapons n
