purchased one-ray tickets from Bogota to Paris, France, on 10 November 1951;
with the following itineraryg

Their final destination is Prague, Czechoslovakia, for which tickets have
been purchased by Louis Sealant, well-known 'FTU leader, through the Kir
airlines office in Vienna, Austria.*
Amado Zapata Toro, who has been a member of the Partido Comunista de
Colombia (PCC) for several years, was a candidate in Jim! 1951 for
president of the Miners4 Unions rtich is affiliated rith the independent
Confederecion de Trabajadorea de Colombia (CTC). At the Fourteenth
Plenum of the PVC, he was elected to the Central Committee,** In
September 1951 he was on the PCC ticket for election to the House of
Representatives.
Zapata, who is a miners dresses and speaks like e poorly-educated and
ignorant person, but he is actually very intelligent. It is reported that
the president of the Liners' Union acts only on Zapata's orders,
, The ostenaible purpose of Zapata's trip Is to receive medical treatment
in Paris. Dr. Roman Posada Madrid, from whom Zapata obtained medical
certificates, is also a Communint.
Lievano? who is at present head of the Cundinamarca Railway Union and a
mehber of the Secretariat of the Independent CTC, was a PCC candidate in
September for election to the House of Representativea from the Department
of Cundinamarcaa

7. On 19 Octobe.. Gilberto Vieira Lhite, Secretary General of the PCC?
stated that Diego Montana Cuellar, who is an important Communist labor
leader in Colombia, might be travelling to Carcass Venezuela, and then
to Rio de Janeiro Brazil, to attend a conference? Upon completion
of the conference he would return to Bogota via the southern mute
stopping at Buenos Aires Santiago* Limas and Quito.
