5. The most prominent ie the case of Hana H. B~erkholt, born 23 November 1892 in
Sk,jeberg, near Sarpsborg. H,~erkholt is secretary of the ~bstfold centraY trade
council and has been an active Communist and a member of the Executive Committee
of the Party for many years. Ra~ently he joined the Moral Rearmament movement,
and took with him into the movement his family and several friends. He continaea,
however, to see all his old Party friends, who in turn continue to work with him.
He has not been denounced or abused in the Communist press.
6. Another known Communist who bas joined Moral Rearmament is Adolf Jahrmann Mangan,
born 18 April 1916. Mangan has been union chairman at Thane Mekaniake Yerksted,
Oslo, and is now chairman of the production committee at the firm. He was once a
vary active member of the Norwegian Communist Party. In the summer of 1951 ha
visited Caua and there becau-a interested in the Moral Rearmament movement. He is
now active in the movement. Mangers is described as a sincere and serious man.
'~. A third example is that of Einar With, born ll December 391u, chairman of the
Jern og Metallarbeiderforbundeta (Iron Metal Workers Union) Executive Committee
in Stavanger, With. went to Cana in 1950. hater ha attended an MRA meeting in
Kristianaarad and became interested in the movement. In the summer of 1950 he
left the NgP and is now engaged in converting Communist Party members in
Stavang?r. With is considered a vary able trade union man.
8. It is not known whether the Ni{P is attempting to infiltrate its members into the
MRA. The possibility cannot be ignored, as this would be in line with Communist
tactics in general. It moat be remembered, however, that the NKP has still to
recover from the weakness aaused by the split in the Party in 199.
