1. at the Ministry of Interior told the informant that
p ans were being made for the evacuation from Bucharest of 250,000 persons.,
Among the first to be evacuated were former farmers and wealthy persons,
Since June 1951 the influx of Soviet military and civilian personnel into
Bucharest makes this move necessary.
2Q In July 1951, Rumanians, Serbs and Schwabs were evacuated from the Yugoslav-
Rumanian border areas- About 144 railroad trains each pullin; about 60 cars
filled ;tid.th evacuees, were transported from the border areas to the Cosambesti,
tarculesti, and Je,,alia stations o about 700 fanz; lies, together with their
household effects and clothing, were "resettled" on an open field lying
between Calarasi and Cioroiu.
