1. The barracks installation on I melmannstrasse in Liegnitz
(0 52f3 32) was the only installation occupied by Polish troops
in he summer of 1950, The installation, which was built prior
to :1914, consisted of two 4 or 5-story quartering buildings each
abo,.it .40 meters long, mess and utilities building, a gymnasium
and garages. The barracks installation on the edge of the airfield,
whir.h was constructed after 1933, quartered Soviet =sir Force troops.
2. In '3eptember 1955 the barrac!'s Installation on Immelrnannstrasse
in :Aegn:itz, north of the airfield, quartered Polish troops. One
f ou.'^~-story barracks building, ~~ ' ch was about 100 meters 1.on , was
pro'3abLy built prior to 1914 three more quartering buildings and
a r,1~ :7,s building were added after 1933. Two of the new buildings
term 6i to '70 meters long each, one about 100 meters, and the mess
bui:Ld1:ag about 50 meters. The f ormner riding school, a building about
100 meters long, was converted Into a garage and tools shed after
1933. Several antenna masts fitted with rod and loop wire antennas
were s sen on one of the buildings. The Polish soldiers observed
t ha-c,, ;were 20 to 25 years old and probably belonged to a signal unit.
