In mid-November the Tso Chug ( l - ) (107- , 22- )-Column was in the ILLEGIB Lungchou (106-56, 22-22)-Shangch n (107-06., 22-20)-Leipling (106-59, 22-37)- Mingchiang (10711, 22-09)-Ningming-(107?-07, 22-09) area, Kwan si. In mid- September 3,000 troops from this column moved to the Chi Chli(0003,3305)-- In early September 7,000 young men, ecruite4in Hunan and Hupei ProvincE:s, were assembled in the Wuhan area for training. Beginning 24. October these recruits were sent by train to Mukden and Harbin for additional training before being used as replacements for the regular army. 870,000 physically fit men between the ages of 18 and 35, for militia. training.
