It carried trucks3 and about 25 5VAtanks with five bogie :wheels, including tanks and 2 25X1C (I) (2) 25X1X I (5) Comments. the train carried a unit from Altenburg of the 38th (?) AT Arty Brig of the XXIX Gds I.Itz Rifle Corps in Merseburg and Altenburg. It may have been on its way to the post in Altenburg via Leipzig. Since there would be about 200 troops in the five boxcars, the number of artillery pieces appears to be disproportionally high, the troops belonged to components of the XXVIII Gds Irltz Rifle Corps, predominantly to elements of the 20th Gds Dietz Div. Components of these units were observed by,a third source in the entraining area along the Dessau-Magdeburg railroad line on 28. and 29 October 1951 upon, completion of the fall exercises of the Eighth Gds Army west of Dessau.
