Location The asbestos mill is about 14 milos south of the large E-W main street of ASBEST (61?30'E/57 00'N), Sverdlovsk Oblast, southeast of town. There is a large swamp north of the mill and to the west a park about 1,200 feet square. For location, see Annex 1. 2. Plant Installations a. According to Soviet workers, the asbestos mill existed before WW I,# Except for the Baranith department, which was built by German PWs and put in operation in 1946, all buildings of the plant are old, b. All of the plant machinery was replaced in 1948 by new or almost new machinery dismantled in Germany. A factory spur track was not observed. The finished products were trucled to the railroad station. For plant Installations see Annex 2.
