Location:
The Plant No 72 is on the northwestern edge of Verkhnyaya-Tura (59051'E/
5 21'N), Sverdlovsk Oblast, on the northeastern bank of a storage
basin about 3.2 km WNW of the Verkhnyaya-Tura railroad station.
2. Plant layout:
a. The oldest part of the plant was constructed as early as 1905. It
*as not until recent years that the plant was essentially modernized.
In connection with this process, several new buildings were constructed
which are in a good condition.
b. The buildings are almost exclusively brick structures, only a few
being of wood.**
c. Part of the power is generated in the plant. Ocould not fur-
nish any information on the origin of the rest of the power. A spur
track is available.
d. The plant area totals about 18UO x 480 meters. For sketch of the
plant see Annex.
3. Work force:
Three shifts of about 12,000 civilian workers and 450 PWs whose number
was reduced to 250 by mid-1948,
4. rroduction:
Previously shells were produced in the plant. Production had been shift''
to ploughs and conveyor belts since March 1948.

c. However, from camparing the annexed sketch of the plant and its
very detailed legend with the previous report, there are evidently such
essential inconsistencies, that further information on the actual
plant layout, especially by more recent reports, is repaired.
