On 3 December 1951, about 120 Soviet troops wear t.ng red-bordered black epaulets were engaged in drill and practice with rifles and Tiaxim heavy machine guns at the former federal educational establishment in Traiskirchen (0 49, }: 7) . Six ;AT Mans and 34 motor vehicles were parked near the v icle sheds- The vehii~lssq included trucks were seen in the park of Tribusw inkel (0 49/1L 36) Castle. Lleven officers, including four majors, and all wearing black service color, were seen entering or le:avLng the r!uartr rs. On 7 December, two groups of 20 officers each, with most of them wearing red-bordered black epauleta and some wearing black-bordered red epaulets were seen in front of the former Flak Kasorne i^ Baden (0 49/ 37), apparently engaged in a map reconnaissance5OX1-HUM exercise, since they all carried imp pouches. Imprints of caterpillar tracks were noticed on the road passing the installation although no armored veriicles were seen inside the billeting area.
