1. The Soviet construction staff charged with the construction
of airfields in the Soviet Zone of Germany was located in ~.erder
25X1X up to 5 December 1951. 0 could not determine who was the
chief of the construction staff. Officers who belonged to the
staff included: Colonel Cherechenkov (fnu) who came from the
U.S.S.R. in the summer of 1951 and was the deputy of the chief
of the Kech office; Lieutenant Colonel Zukharukov (fnu) who.
has been in the Soviet Zone of Germany for about three years
and was the deputy of Colonel Cherechenkov; Lieutenant Colonel
Konatovskt (fnu) who was charged with inspectin and accepting
construction; Lieutenant Colonel Streltsow (fnu) who has been
in the Soviet Zone of Germany for about three years; Major
Oleshnik (fnu); Captain Pshinchni (fnu) who, together with
Streltsov and Oleshnil conducted negotiations concerning contracts
and prices; Major Chudakov (fnu) who was charged with the
procurement of material; Captain Avdeyev (fnu) who has been
in the Soviet Zone of Germany, speaks German fluently and was
observed inspecting Brand airfield; Captain I:jironienki (fnu)
who has been in the Soviet Zone of Germany for half a year and
was also observed inspecting Brand airfield; and Captain Smirnov
(fnu) who, after inspecting Brand airfield, was transferred to
the U.S.S.R. Avdeyev, who is 26 years old, had attended the
academy in lloscow. He said that he was the control officer for
a large district.
2. The officers of the construction staff negotiated with Gorman
construction firms in the central construction bureau at 137
Lisenbahinstrasse in '.'erder. German construction experts were
not allowed to enter the headquarters of the Soviet construction
staff. *
