lm The East China Air Force Command decided to hold flying exercises at
airfields in Fukien for two weeks, beginning on 12 January, for the
purpose of strengthening air defenses along the Chekiang and Fukien
coasts. The Shanghai Air Base Command was ordered to send six YAK-15's
and two reconnaissance planes to participate. The Nanking and Chekiang
air base commands were also ordered to send planes.
20 At about 9 a.m. on 11 January planes individually left AungJao and
Tachang Airfields for Fukien.
