1. In June 1951 barge3 were transt rting cast iron section3 of an arched coristruc-
lion from Rani ant, Ismail to 131>apest. These 'arches are said to be for use
in the construction of a tunnel under the Danube in Budapest.

2. Construction w,rk at Dunapentelo (see attached sketche kilometer 1580) is
making great rogress. New quays are being built and the banks of the winter
harbor are be:.ng strengthened. The area is surrounded crith barbed wire and
5.s guarded by Hungarian police and troops.
3. Two double r i.lway- tracks have been built from the factory area to the banks
of the river and are used to tran;3port building materials' to the site, The
rail.-way car. yang cars are towed up hill by cables.
The new quay is being built betivee:'i kilometer point 1577,8 and 1576. Part,
of the qua s is complete and con-gist-.s of a steep stone. wall, reinforced with
upright it h girders.
The new vf.nter harbor is betvreen kilometer points 1578 and 1580. A pontoon
bridge hj3 been built across the harbor.
