The Kabelwerk K8penick, Berlin (formerly C. J. Vogel),, of the SAG Kabel,
is located in Ber111n-K8penick, Friedrichahagener Strasse 110 The diamond
boring and polishing department is in Berlin-Adlershof*, as is, since
16 July 1951, the fine wire drawing (Feinzug) department. The departments
identified by Source are:

2? The Kabeiwerk has a personnel of some 2000. Following are some of the
key men.
Ignachey
A Russian who is Director General of the plant. He has
made known his intention of going to Moscow in the near
future; Source does not know whether he will return to
his job at the Kabelwerk.
Chief Engineer A Russian whose name is unknown; he began work early in
July 195'1.
Sliszacki German plant director; a member of the SED~
Suhlig Successor to Otto,, former Commercial Director.
Schmiedeke (Master artisan) Section 214a of Department 24; is not a
member of the -SM.
(Master artisan) Section 24b of Department 2t; an enthusiastic
SFD activist.

6. Lead is obtained from Czechoslovakia and illegally from Western firms via
Rostock.
.firms via Rostock. The resin is shipped in zinc containers on which the
sending firm's inscription has been made illegible.
an East-German firm. The ovens are operated by gas generated in the firm's
gas plant in Berlin-Adlershof.
Purchases of diamonds by the firm are not recorded in the Receiving
(Wareneingang) Department. The setting of diamonds into cylindrical
plates is done by the Maus firm in BerlinnAdlershof.%
Resin for impregnating cables is imported illegally from United States
the.Kabelwerk obtained nine new annealing ovens from
