The indispensable rrinium (red.lead oxide, Pb304) for coating iron products has
been replaced by a substitute,, because of the great scarcity of lin teed oil
important in r,,-.king bauxite paint for wooden box cars.
The oil-pro lLucing seeds grog, n in Hungary (sunflower, tobacco, hemp) must be
activ~I.tei prior to their use, th"t is, treated in high temperatures (300?C)s
causing certain chemical changes, so that the oil, with regard to the techniques
u,3ed in m king E:::::::*a.cquer, becomes a saatisfactory base product. By this
actioration method the half-drying oils can be processed into a technicn1 resin,
The resin thus produced is dissolved on a 1-1 ratio in benzine, which solution
is mixed with bauxite-red paint. 50X1-HUM
3. This paint composition, obtainable solely from Hungarian products, is suit.-ble
as a substitute for the bauxite rod linseed oil base,.
